A non-profit organization founded in 1997, Collectors of Wood Art is committed to the development and appreciation of studio wood art (including turned objects, sculpture and furniture) among collectors, artists, educators, art critics, galleries, museums and the general public.
To achieve that goal, CWA seeks to
• Facilitate communications among collectors, creators, educators, art critics and exhibitors of studio wood art.
• Advance scholarship in the field of studio wood art.
• Encourage artists to expand their creative boundaries when working with wood.
• Promote awareness of and educate the general public about studio wood art.
• Educate members in the acquisition, display, documentation and conservation of studio wood art.
