Poplar Culture - Benefit for the Wharton Esherick Museum

Historic Yellow Springs, Chester Springs, PA
The Wharton Esherick Museum is holding a party to commemorate Wharton's beloved poplar tree that grew outside his studio door. Two years ago the Museum had to take down this significant tree; however we turned this unfortunate event into an opportunity to celebrate the creative fusion of art and wood. We have distributed pieces of this poplar tree to over 40 artists, including Mira Nakashima, David Ellsworth, Mark Sfirri, David Ebner and Alphonse Mattia. Their work will be for sale during a three-week art exhibition. Proceeds from the sale will benefit the Museum.
